In Computing this week, Year 4 have been looking at AI and the positives and negatives behind it. We have looked at different ways AI can help us in different ways such as in school and medically. We learned that AI can be used to help support our learning and we created a document together on Purple Mash to show us the different ways it can support us.

During our Olympics together project we have been working hard learning about the history of the Olympics, the geography of France and the cultural significance of the games. During P.E, we took part in a number of events and worked hard competing against each other. Because the Olympic rings signify unity, we even had a go at creating them as a year group. (It could’ve went better!)

Our Path To Paris challenge is well underway! We have been working hard to move more, in lessons, at break times and finding extra time during the day. Collectively, we have smashed the target of 555 miles to Paris and are continuing the challenge throughout June, in the hope to win the competition against other schools in Sunderland.

We visited Washington Wetlands to continue to story of Ava’s Destiny. Through the story and puppet show we learned about the importance of nature and messages of migration, self-belief and perseverance. Through the day, we took part in a number of activities based in nature, like building nests for small birds. We explored the centre, hunting for different types of birds. Back at school, we have logins to find out where Ava goes next on her journey, along with lots of different nature challenges to work towards some certificates and badges.
