We are super scientists in Year 1! Our Science topic this half term is materials, so we have been exploring everyday materials and their properties. We are so impressed at your focus and understanding of the materials used in our everyday objects Year 1!

Phonics Friday

This week we had our first Phonics Friday session of Year 1. We had so much fun showing off our amazing phonics skills to our grown ups, and we can’t wait for the next one! In case you missed the letter, Phonics Friday sessions will take place every two weeks from now, in your child’s classroom from 8:30am, until around 9:30 am.

Literacy

Can you believe that our toys come to life at night? We couldn’t! This week in Year 1 our toys came to life and hid in different places around our classroom, but they were no match for our superstar detective children in Year 1, who found them all immediately! We wrote about what toys we found and where we found them, how amazing are we?!

Autumn Crafts

This week, we had our Autumn Crafts afternoon, and it was so lovely to see some of the children’s grown ups in attendance. We made some lovely crafts which will be coming home with your children this week!
