Summer Term 2 - Gallery and Work

Broom House Farm

We visited Broom House Farm for our Summer visit. We made flower bouquets using the wildflowers that have been planted in the fields and we even got to bring some of them home. Did you know Broom House Farm is the size of 12 football pitches?

We headed into the forest for the final time and took on our most challenging adventure yet. We took part in the Awkward Challenge and used our problem-solving skills to make our way around different obstacle courses. We loved riding the zip line!

We absolutely loved visiting Broom House Farm this year and we are feeling incredibly lucky that we were able to visit three times. It was so exciting to see the animals from Autumn all grown up. We learned so much about life on the farm and we enjoyed every minute of it.

Clay Modelling

 We have been using clay to model make in D&T. We designed and created statues linked to our Ancient Egypt topic. Historians and Archaeologists believe the Sphinx was built to protect the tombs of pharaohs and gods. We made statues like the sphinx and invented our own Egyptian Tomb Guards.  

Ancient Egyptian Gods

We have been learning all about the Ancient Egyptian Gods and Goddesses. We designed our very own god or goddess, we gave them a name and even decided what we were the god of. We created unique headdresses that linked to our god and persuaded our friends to worship us.

P.E.

In P.E, Year 3 are learning to play tennis. We have the support of a tennis coach, which is helping us to develop our skills. We have practised ball control by using hand and eye coordination. We are learning how to hold a racket correctly and how to move with the ball and racket without dropping the ball. Our tennis sessions are helping us compete in an upcoming tennis competition. We definitely feel more confident!

Science

Shadows

We have been exploring shadows and how they change size and direction depending on where the light source is. We had lots of fun manipulating our shadows into different shapes and sizes for our friends to draw around. We even played shadow tag; it was very hard to stop our partner touching our shadow!
