Summer 2021 - Gallery and Work

Year 6 are learning about The Maya, an ancient, South American civilisation. We are going to learn about their way of life and how they used the natural resources around them to live, prosper and grow. We will learn about their cultural and religious beliefs and their daily routines. We will also make and taste some Chilli Chocolate, which Mayan people enjoyed!

Sports Day 2021

Gardening Club - June 2021

Our school garden and learning area has come a long way over recent months! Mr Taggart and the Year 6 Gardening Club have worked incredibly hard to make the garden a tranquil, peaceful space.

The vegetables, in the beds, are flourishing and the tomatoes in the greenhouse are thriving too. Mr Taggart has laid the new lawn and we have plenty of seating, so staff and pupils can enjoy the area. We have painted our sign, covering it with words to encourage mindfulness and well-being.

In the Garden with Year 6

Over the past two weeks our progress in the garden has been hampered, due to the weather. However, we have managed to plough on with our mindfulness sign, which looks beautiful, and we are very proud of our work. We have also spent time making more decorations for our mindful tree, which we hope to add out in the garden next week.

Leaver Hoodies
Year 6 pupils were thrilled to receive their 2021 leavers hoodies today. Everyone looks extremely smart and very grown up!
In the Garden with Year 6 - week two
This week, we have continued with our garden clean up and have begun planting. Our sunflowers are in the greenhouse for now and the root vegetables, in the raised beds, are growing nicely.
Our mindful, calm space is also taking shape. We have started to decorate our mindful tree and painted some wooden pallets for our soul sign. Watch this space for weekly updates..

PE

Year 6 have recently taken part in Quad Kids Athletics. Pupils developed team building skills and competitively raced against each other. All events in the tournament were timed with place points awarded. We are waiting on the final results to announce the winning team...

In the Garden with Year 6 - week one
Year 6 began their afterschool club this week with a tidy up of the garden. We prepared the soil in the raised beds, raked the autumn leaves and did a general clean up. Next week, we will begin planting and making the area welcoming. Watch this space to keep up with our weekly progress...
