Summer 2019 Gallery and Work

Science – Planting

In Science, we have been learning about plants. We read Jack and the beanstalk and then followed instructions to plant our very own magical beanstalk.

Alice in wonderland - Outdoor Week 2019

Art

In Art we made pocket watches like the white rabbit had in Alice and Wonderland. We made it for Teddy Bear Grylls so he could learn to tell the time.

We also made little pots, tea cups and tea pots out of clay for the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party.

Ben Lewis Giles

Ben Lewis Giles was a fantasy artist who created artwork using photographs and collage. We visited Mowbray park to see the hidden door in between the trees. We imagined that we were in a wonderland and created our very own art work based on the work of Ben Lewis Giles. Take a look of at some of them below.

Maths

In Maths we measured out liquids to create a 'Drink Me' potion for Teddy Bear Grylls.

Literacy

In literacy we designed and created our own potion. We thought about the magical powers it would give Teddy Bear Grylls.

We used our imagination and went on a walk through Alice's wonderland. We used our senses to think of what we could smell, see and hear.

Computing

We created a class pictogram of our favourite characters from Alice in Wonderland.

Obstacle Course

Teddy Bear Grylls fell down the rabbit hole and we took part in an obstacle course outdoors to help him find his was out. It was great fun!

Orienteering/Geography

We followed a map to answer questions about Alice in Wonderland. We then created our own area of a Wonderland in groups. After that we put together our piece of the wonderland into a whole class wonderland.

Den Building

We built a den for Teddy Bear Grylls to use as a shelter whilst he was in the wonderland. We worked in our house teams to see who could build the best shelter.Team work was very important! Team Derwent won! Take a look below at some pictures of us hard at work.
