Multi Skills
Year One took part in a multi skills afternoon at the Raich Carter. We learnt how to jump, throw, catch and travel. It was good fun learning new skills and we enjoyed meeting new friends too.
Lily- “I liked when I needed to balance on one leg, it was a little tricky though.”
Marnie- “I learnt to throw the ball and balance on one leg.”
Christmas Performance 2019
Well done to all of our KS1 children, who took part in the Christmas performance, “The Sleepy Shepherd”. You were all fantastic!
D&T
In winter the weather is very cold, we agreed that hot soup would help to warm us up, especially if we lived in the South Pole. In D&T, we taste tested some vegetables and then designed our own vegetable soup. We learnt to prepare vegetables safely using knives and peelers. We used these vegetables, to make our soup around the fire pit.
Millie said, “The onions hurt my eyes.”
Leona said, “You must be careful when you chop.”
Children in Need
To raise money for Children in Need, we came into school wearing spots and odd socks. We took part in lots of different activities throughout the day and worked in different classrooms. We made masks and bookmarks. We did Pudsey maths and literacy and then exercised by showing off our best Pudsey bear dancing moves. We all took part in a Pudsey daily mile, wearing our masks.
Our Visit to St Ignatius Church
In R.E, we visited St Ignatius Church. While we were there, we found lots of interesting objects, such as a statue, a cross, pictures of Jesus and flowers. We learnt that the lectern is used to put the bible on and pews are special seats to sit on. Father Andrew talked us about Jesus and why Christians visit a church.
