Easter Challenge
Spring Walk
This week we have been on a walk around school looking for signs of spring. We have been observing and describing the weather outside and how this is different to the weather in winter. We used our senses to write down and draw what we could see, hear, smell, hear and touch. While on our walk, we could see and smell the flowers growing and hear the birds singing.
World Book Day
For World Book Day we completed lots of different activities. We watched Valley Road's 'The Masked Reader' and had to guess which adult it was and the book they were reading. It was so much fun and we did so well matching them all up. We also went on a book scavenger hunt where we needed to find different characters and items within a book. It was great to look through lots of different stories. As well as this, we also made our own bookmarks to use with our reading books and puppets to help us retell our story this half term 'When Will it be Spring?'
What was your favourite part of the day?
Children's Mental Health Week
For Children’s Mental Health Week, we looked at feelings and discussed how our bodies can feel different depending on our mood and emotion. We looked at using different resources to represent how we are feeling. Some people used stars and glitter to show they were happy or bright colours to represent positive emotions. We looked at the 5 ways to look after our wellbeing and discussed our ‘jar of happiness’. We spoke about, and drew, what we would put in our jar of happiness, what makes us happy and how to make others happy.
