Reception Nativity Performance

Thank you to everyone who came to see the children perform. We are so proud of the children and know that you were too, not a dry eye in the house! They did a fantastic job, with many stepping into new roles at the last minute due to illnesses.

Christmas Jumper Day

Thank you to everyone who donated money to Save the Children, we raised £10 in Reception. The children looked wonderful in their Christmas jumpers and enjoyed their Christmas lunch.

Reception Parent Craft

A huge thank you to everyone who came to our Christmas craft afternoon. It was lovely to see everyone and the children enjoyed working alongside you to make their decorations. We can safely say it has got us into the Christmas spirit. We look forward to seeing you at the Christmas Fayre on Thursday 5th December and at our Nativity Performance on Wednesday 11th December.

Making soup

We had many carrots spare from snack time so we decided to make carrot soup. We were very independent when chopping up the ingredients, we were also very careful when using the sharp knife. After we had chopped the ingredients, we put them all in a pan with some vegetable stock. We watched Miss Smith put the pan onto the cooker and very carefully, we stirred them all together. When the soup was finished, we all had a taste and enjoyed dipping our bread into the soup.

Road safety week

For road safety week we took part in a wide range of activities to increase our awareness of understanding how to stay safe when crossing the road. We talked about how to cross the road safely following the ‘stop, look, listen, think’ road safety message. Ask the children if they can tell you how to cross the road safely? Where is a safe place to cross?

We designed our own road safety posters to display in school, highlighting the key steps to follow when crossing the road. Using the cars and the small world people figures we demonstrated how to cross the road. We shared a range of scenarios of people crossing the road and the children had to decide if it was safe or unsafe to cross.
