I have the right to an education which develops my personality, talents and abilities |
At Valley Road we believe that educational visits and visitors, play an important part in pupils’ learning. Educational trips outside the classroom, residential visits or specialists visiting a class or group can inspire and motivate children in new and exciting ways, helping to bring learning to life. Through carefully planned visits and visitors our pupils are provided with experiences, which play an important part in developing their initiative, resourcefulness and independence. Getting out of the classroom and experiencing the wider world allows pupils to engage with learning in a variety of ways, helping to make learning more memorable. Whether this be on an outdoor adventure day, a residential school trip or even a visit to a museum, pupils will be physically and emotionally challenged, and their independence will improve as they engage with their peers and teachers. |
All Educational Visit activities will support the aims of the school, enriching the curriculum and making learning more meaningful and relevant. Through our off-site visits, and visitors to school programme, we aim to:
· Provide a wider range of experiences for our pupils than could be provided on the school site alone, developing knowledge, understanding and skills through experience that is not achievable in the classroom.
· Enhance curricular and recreational opportunities for our pupils, enabling them to learn in context, to learn by practical engagement and to learn by personal discovery.
· Provide new opportunities for personal, social and emotional development, for character building and independence, enabling our children to grow and develop in new environments.
