This week in Year 2, we have had lots of visitors in school! On Monday, Zaf Iqbal from St Mark’s Mosque came to talk to us about our upcoming visit to the mosque next week. Later in the week, we were visited by Stewart and Chris from Travelling by Tuba, who amazed us with their music – who knew we had so many talented musicians in Year 2? Finally, on Friday, our coach Dave joined us on the playground to teach us some fun new games to play on the yard. It has been such a fun and exciting week!

To start our Great Fire of London topic we visited The Fire Pit. We imagined what it might have been like during the Great Fire of London, thinking carefully about what we would have been able to see, hear and smell. The children came up with some brilliant adjectives, and in literacy we used these to write fantastic sentences with expanded noun phrases.
