Some of our Year 5 pupils were invited to the Donnison Heritage and Education Centre. This was originally an all girls school in 1798. The visit was to provide knowledge for our next topics. We found out about our local coasts through historic photographs and videos. Then, we created a collage using these photographs. Next, we spoke to the volunteers to discover what it was like, and about the attractions, at Roker beach during the 1950’s and 1960’s. We used this to write and perform poems. Finally, we made proggy mats using different colour materials.
