Year 3 held an Autumn Craft afternoon this week and invited parents and carers to join in the fun! We had a wonderful afternoon making autumn wreaths, creating leaf prints, and completing mindful colouring activities. We also put our maths skills in to action by solving colour by number autumn puzzles!

Year 3 are learning about Animals including humans, in science this half term. We have learned about the Skelton, its function, and the main bones within it. We learned that we need out skeleton for movement, support, and protection. We studied and researched food groups and the nutrients different food give us. We learned that different foods give us different nutrients and that a balanced diet helps us to grow and be healthy.

Sky Class kicked off the Autumn Term in competition mode! We took part in a Football Festival, competing against other local school teams. We did amazingly well and our team skills and support for each other shone through!

Year 3 visited the Great North Museum to learn about the Stone Age to Iron Age. We learned about Palaeolithic and Mesolithic during a workshop and worked as archaeologists and historians. We handled artefacts from early the Stone Age to Middle Stone age and sorted them into groups, according to the materials they were made from. After our workshop we explored the Stone Age gallery and saw lots of evidence that helps us to understand what life was like, a long time ago. We had so much fun and will apply our new knowledge and understanding during our history topic in class.
