Zoom:

Year 3 went to Broom House Farm this week and had a wonderful day! We spent the morning learning about the day to day running of the farm and we got to see the farmer and shepherdess’s helping the lambs. The farmer explained to us that the lambs were having an injection that was packed with vitamins and minerals as well as a vaccination to help protect them from disease. We saw new born piglets with their mums, who were sleepy and tired. Jo, who works at the farm, told us about the land and how it is used. The grass in one gigantic field is not cut until late July so that wild flowers can grow, which attracts the bees! The farm is paid to let the grass grow! After lunch, we spent the afternoon in the adventure forest and it was so much fun! We love our visits to Broom House Farm!

National Sports Week

We celebrated National Sports Week with all of our friends! We competed in lots of different stations including skipping, long jump, hurdles, javelin, beanbag throw and football dribbling. We enjoyed an ice pop at break time to get us ready for Sports Day Races on the afternoon. What a lovely day!

Nissan Workshop

We have been incredibly lucky to have a visitor from Nissan. She told us a little bit about Nissan and their mission for the future, including more electric cars to help protect the environment. She was blown away with the knowledge that we already had of Nissan thanks to our topic ‘Sunderland’s Industrial Past’. We worked in pairs to build our very own cars out of Lego and we then drew our designs and listed the main features. We then presented our ideas to see which car Nissan might build next.
