We are Britain Knowledge Organiser Spring 24 1.pdf |
This week has been full of fun and exciting activities! We've been learning all about the Easter story and enjoyed getting creative with our parents as we made lots of lovely Easter crafts together.
We also went on a walk around our local environment to explore and spot different animals. We were amazed by how many birds we saw – all different kinds! We even spotted some cheeky squirrels along the way.
We ended our adventure by spending some joyful time with our friends back at the playgroup, playing and laughing together. What a wonderful week it’s been!
Also this week, some of our beautiful tiny caterpillars have finally emerged from their chrysalises and are now bright, beautiful butterflies. We are so happy to have witnessed this amazing life cycle process and will now be releasing them into the big world.
This week, Year 2 put their chef hats on and got creative in the kitchen! As part of their design and technology learning, they explored different ingredients, taste-tested a variety of flavours, and designed their very own perfect pizzas. From choosing delicious toppings to assembling and baking their masterpieces, the children had a fantastic time developing their culinary skills. It was wonderful to see their enthusiasm and teamwork, and of course, the best part was tasting their delicious creations!
Year Two had an amazing week in PE, diving into history through dance as they learned a fantastic routine about the Great Fire of London. The children moved rhythmically like flickering flames and worked together to pass heavy buckets full of water, re-enacting the efforts to put out the fire. We also explored the fascinating world of balloons and bubbles! We discovered how air fills a balloon, making it expand, and investigated what happens when bubbles join together or float through the air. The children were amazed by the different shapes and sizes they could create and loved testing how long their bubbles could last before popping. It was a fun and hands-on way to learn about air, pressure, and movement!
This week, Year 2 celebrated British Science Week by exploring life cycles! The children loved observing the caterpillars in our class and conducted an enquiry about size and age. It was a week filled with fun, learning, and curiosity as we delved into the fascinating world of science!
