Miss Dove’s class had their very first outdoor stay and play session this week! We were lucky enough to have Dom from RISE come in to set up some fabulous outdoor adventures for us. We started off by having a scavenger hunt, looking all around our outdoor area for hidden woodland creatures. The children and their grown ups then got to work making homes and food for these animals, taking into consideration what we had learned about where they like to live and what they like to eat. Well done Reception (and their grown ups!).
This week, the children in Reception have taken everything they learned from their fire engine visit last week and put it into practice. The children became firefighters working as a team to put out the fires using their ‘hoses’. They loved this activity and showed great teamwork and turn taking!
This week, Reception had a very exciting visit from the fire service as part of our People Who Help Us topic. The children learned all about fire safety as well as the work the fire service do to help our local community. They were lucky enough to be able to sit inside the fire engine and even took turns squirting the hose!
