Summer 2021 June/July - Gallery and Work
Sports Day
Year Two took part in an Olympic style sports morning. We practised the javelin, the long jump, skipping, football and we played lots of games. We also competed in the egg and spoon race, the bean bag race and a sprint.
The overall winner for the morning was Derwent Team. Well done Derwent team – you were fantastic!
Geography
As part of our geography topic, we went on a local walk around Hendon. We carried out a survey to see how many landmarks and human features we could see. As we walked through Backhouse Park, we were shocked to discover a magical fairy garden. Did you know that the tooth fairy even has a home there?
Orienteering
In Geography, Year 2 have been working hard on their map skills. We used a map of the school grounds to locate clues to the riddle. We collected the letters on the clues and unscrambled them to reveal the word ‘sunflower’.
