Success for All
In Year 2 our topic for Autumn 2016 is Dinosaurs, this can be viewed below:
Year 2 visited Beamish for a traditions of Christmas workshop. We went back in time to where there was no heating or electricity and baked cinnamon biscuits, played traditional games and made peg dolls. We sat around the fire listening to Christmas stories and singing Christmas carols. Earlier in the day we went to the Old Town to watch sweets being made and visited the dentist and photographers. It was an amazing day and we all thoroughly enjoyed it!
The fire service came into school to talk to us about importance of keeping safe around the house. We heard the story about The Great Fire of London and some of us were lucky enough to try on a real fireman’s uniform.
We had a fantastic time making Christmas crafts with our parents and carers. We used clay, paint and lots of glitter to make tree decorations and wreaths. It was a fun afternoon!
Year 2 Anti Bullying
Year Two made wanted posters for anti bullying week. We talked about qualities we look for in a good friend. We made a friendship hand wreath too.
Year Two visited the Hancock Museum. We found out lots about dinosaur fossils and had great fun exploring.
We have been doing lots of fun dinosaur jobs! We have made dinosaur fossils and dioramas. It was really messy making volcanoes from paper mache.
