Useful information for this half term
Learning at home
Take a look at some of the work we have been doing at home as part of our Winter Wonderland topic.
We were inspired by our book 'Lost and Found' and made tasty penguin cupcakes and penguin bananas.
Great North Museum and Fenwick's window
We visited the Great North Museum to find out about polar animals. We took part in a handling session, we felt reindeer fur, walrus' skull, wolf's skull and a stuffed puffin. We explored the museum using the habitat bags and found out about lots of other animals too.
After lunch, we walked in the snow to Fenwick's window. We saw Paddington Bear, it was such a great day!
We made penguins from our book 'Lost and Found' and took them on an adventure to the fire pit. We drank hot chocolate and made smores. We enjoyed toasting our marshmallows and even more eating them. We finished our morning singing Christmas songs around the fire. We all had a great morning and the penguins enjoyed their adventure too!
We can't wait to write about the adventure of our penguins.
We had great fun at our Halloween Disco!
We had so much fun at our parent craft session. We made lots of Halloween and Autumn crafts. We also showed our families our books, they were very proud!
Our Visit to St Ignatius Church
This term we are learning about Christianity in R.E. We visited St Ignatius Church and Father Andrew told us what the church is used for, who visits the church and his role at the church.
We then had the opportunity to look around the church, we worked hard to find all the features of the church. Father Andrew explained what they were and what they were used for.
We can’t wait to go back to learn about Advent and the Christmas story.
