Linked with the story of ‘The Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch’ we decided to design and make our own delicious lighthouse sandwich. We tried lots of different ingredients, including mustard! We then decided on the ones we liked the most and make our own sandwich. They were fantastic. After this, we wrote a set of instructions to help other people make their own tasty snack.

To start our new topic of ‘Oh I do like to be beside the seaside’ Rainbow Room read ‘The Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch’. We really enjoyed the story and learning about how Mr and Mrs Grinling tried to stop the seagulls from pinching the lunch! We decided to make our own sandwich books retelling the story. We wrote each part on a different shape and colour piece of paper and when we have put them together they look like a sandwich!
