Day Five - home time

Some last minute fun before our journey back.

Thursday 29th June 2017

Day Four

Another amazing day for all of the groups with plenty of fun.

Group one - Today we visited the mine and found out about the different types of rocks and how they are formed. The history of the mine was very interesting.

Group two - Today was our day for gorge walking so once we had scrambled through the gorge it was time to heat ourselves up up next to a campfire and toast some marshmallows.

Group three - Orienteering was so much fun! After that we went on the high ropes challenge and smashed it!

See you soon everyone

Day three

Today group one went canoeing for the first time and then went gorge walking! We loved it! Group two loved canoeing so much on Monday that we wanted to do it all again then we went straight to the 'death swing'!

Group three concentrated on team work for motivation as we powered up a mountain and stopped in a cave for lunch. The day was finished by building slate sculptures.

This evening we all got together for team challenges.

Day two

Another action packed day here at Derwent Hill. Although the weather was wet, we didn't let it dampen our moods. Today we went into the forest to climb a mountain. As well as this, we built dens, explored nature and were lucky enough to stop at the cafe for hot chocolate and marshmallows. Delicious! Some of us went gorge walking this morning and then faced the dreaded death swing. We had so much fun on it. Tonight we used our teamwork skill to complete various team challenges. It's been a long tiring day so we'll definitely sleep well tonight. Good Night.

Monday 26th June 17

the first day

We have all had an amazing day so far.

Today we have completed a variety of activities. We have been canoeing, we have explored the grounds and also did a little bit of hill walking. We are all tucked up in bed for the first night and want to say goodnight to everyone at home!

Love from all the children in year 5 and 6

on our way

The journey to Derwent Hill begins, we are all so excited.
