Thank you for coming to our Reception Sports Event. Well done to everyone who took part. The children thoroughly enjoyed themselves and were really proud to win trophies and medals for taking part
The children are becoming little mathematicians this term and are developing there confidence in number up to 20. They have been solving problems in relation to addition and subtraction and have gained knowledge in doubling, halving and sharing. They have accessed a variety of practical activities both indoors and outdoors to develop their knowledge.
This term in Reception part of our topic is minibeasts. We have had a topic/ story focus across three weeks to gain an in depth understanding of minibeasts and an opportunity to investigate and explore them. We have learned some facts about minibeasts e.g. where would we find them? How many legs do they have?. The children enjoyed listening to clues about minibeasts and working with their partner to guess which minibeast was being described. This week we went on a minibeast hunt to see what minibeasts we could find and identify, we had to lift up logs and stones to find some of them! We really enjoyed learning about minibeasts. If you ever need to know any facts about minibeasts then come to us, we are now minibeast experts.
Apart of this term we have been learning all about Summer, we have looked at the similarities and differences between the seasons. The children visited Barnes Park to experience the season first hand. Each class visited the park on different days and enjoyed an array of experiences. They used the map and landmark pictures to find their way around the park., finding ducks, flowers, bridges and sculptures. The children had a fantastic day , please enjoy looking at our pictures to find out how much we have learnt.
