A Wriggly Nativity - Our Christmas production
The Reception children have performed their Christmas production of A Wriggly Nativity, all the children performed brilliantly and are a credit to Valley Road.
Paul Cookson Visit
We have really enjoyed working with Paul Cookson. First of all he read us a few of his poems- we thought some of them were really funny! Then we had the chance to make up our own poems about the topics we have been learning about in our classroom, Jack Frost, Stick Man and Christmas. Once we had created our own poems we had the opportunity to perform them to the whole school- this was our favourite part! We can't wait to tell our parents that we have written our own poem
The Reception children took part in a sponsored walk to help fund raise money to develop the early year outdoors. The children and the parents joined in the walk on Thursday 10th November 2016. We had a great afternoon.
THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO ATTENDED.
A huge thank you to everyone who attended the craft session on Friday 21st October. Here are some photographs from the day.
The Reception Team
Our first few weeks in Reception September 2016
We would like to share some photographs of the children during their first few weeks in Reception. The children have been exploring all aspects of the environment and participated in a wide range of activities. In the outdoor area the children have been building the giants castle from our story Jack and the Beanstalk. In Maths the children have been ordering numbers to 10 and even had a go at writing some of them. The children have also enjoyed acting out parts of The Three Billy Goats Gruff story with the puppets in the small world area.
