The children were all extremely excited on arrival to nursery this afternoon! This was their first experience of heavy snowfall and they could not wait to get outside! We wrapped up in our waterproofs and off we went.
They watched in amazement as the snow and hailstones fell onto their hands and melted, they made foot prints, patterns and “snow angels”. Squealing with delight as they made snowballs, competing to see who could throw them the highest. Some of the children tasted the snow, commenting how cold it was on their lips and how it tasted like “water” and “juice”.
We had a wonderful time experiencing something brand new and warmed up with a cup of warm milk and marshmallows. The next day parents told us their children had told them all about what a great time they had!
We are so proud of the children as they have already settled into nursery. They have made lots of new friends and are enjoying exploring the environment. We have been very busy learning the routines and expectations of nursery and having lots of fun.
